Queer Calgary is a local registered nonprofit that is is dedicated to combating queer isolation and disconnection. We accomplish this by creating safer and accessible third spaces within the Calgary area for all 2SLGBTQIA+ people of any background to openly be themselves, have fun, make friends, learn new skills, and find a like-minded community. We ensure our spaces are safer spaces by partnering with and hosting our events at proven 2SLGBTQIA+ friendly businesses and locations.

Our programs range from Community Care Coffee, where you can get together with other people and just have social connection over a coffee or tea, to rock climbing where the queer community and our allies can challenge ourselves to trying new activities and making new friends.

We began with the humble beginnings of a grassroots collective, gathering a group of like-minded gender and sexually diverse individuals with one goal of “addressing the need for community” during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Since then Queer Calgary has evolved into a registered non-profit that serves the greater 2SLGBTQIA+ community within Calgary and the surrounding areas. We typically see over 100 unique individual’s attending our on-going programming every week. The queer community has a history of isolation and disconnection, and with your help, we will continue to work towards spreading queer joy and connection.
