A spinal Cord Injury is an expensive injury. Many people don’t have access to the money they need to support them throughout their lives following an SCI. When a client is unable to fully fund non-government funded medical supplies, SCI-AB steps in to help them.
Smudging is a cultural ceremony practiced by a wide variety of Indigenous people in Canada and is also associated with healing practices and promoting over-all well-being. When requested, Client Service Coordinators will provide sweetgrass to their clients to facilitate smudging.
Patients with spinal cord injuries often require specialized incontinence supplies to manage bladder and bowel issues. These supplies, ranging from catheters to protective undergarments, play a crucial role in maintaining dignity and comfort for individuals navigating the challenges of incontinence due to spinal cord injury.
A spinal Cord Injury is an expensive injury. Many people don’t have access to the money they need to support them throughout their lives following an SCI. When a client is unable to fully fund non-government funded medical supplies, SCI-AB steps in to help them.
SCI-AB maintains an active presence in the hospitals to meet with newly injured people. Upon discharge, patients are provided with resilience kits, with each kit consisting of items such as a tote bag, cup holder, Allan keys, cooling towel etc.
