I am a passionate physiotherapist who has dedicated more than 15 years of my career to neurological rehabilitation. Through years of working in Alberta’s public health system, one reality became impossible to ignore: people living with neurological conditions need lifelong care, yet access is limited by diagnosis, age, location, and funding. That gap is why Neuro Centered was founded.

Neurological disorders are the leading cause of disability worldwide, affecting 1 in 3 people. For individuals and families, these conditions bring profound physical, emotional, and financial challenges. The World Health Organization has highlighted the urgent need for timely, effective, and responsive neurological care—yet for many Albertans, that care remains out of reach.

Our public healthcare system simply cannot keep up with the growing demand. Many people wait months, sometimes more than a year, just to see a specialist. After diagnosis, far too many receive little or no rehabilitation, or are unable to access clinicians with the specialized training required for complex neurological conditions.

Neuro Centered exists to help fill these gaps. We provide affordable, safe, and effective rehabilitation and wellness programs delivered by experienced physical and occupational therapists with advanced neurological training. Our focus is on helping people improve function, independence, and quality of life—at every stage of their journey.

Many of the individuals we serve are unable to work due to their condition and cannot afford the therapy they urgently need. Publicly funded programs are often limited or unavailable, leaving people without support during the most critical times of recovery and long-term management.

As a newly established non-profit, we rely entirely on community support. Our organization operates through volunteered hours, with no employees. Therapy is delivered by consultants, with costs covered through a percentage of services provided. We offer in-home and virtual care to reduce overhead and improve accessibility across Alberta. Even with these cost-saving measures, essential annual insurance and professional registrations are required to safely continue our work.
