UNCEDED: Voices of the Land hasn't added a story.
UNCEDED: Voices of the Land is exhibiting in Edmonton until June 21, and we are calling on our community's generosity to support those less fortunate who wish to attend the exhibit while supporting our small non-profit.
Created for the 2018 Venice Architecture Biennale, UNCEDED is the first Indigenous-led contemporary architecture exhibit ever presented on the world stage, and the first Canadian Entry to the Venice Architecture Biennale to be presented in North America. Following successful engagements in Venice and Ottawa, UNCEDED brings its breathtaking, immersive experience of the beauty, creativity and worldviews of Indigenous architects to amiskwaciwâskahikan, also known as Edmonton – until June 21 in the heart of downtown.
Led by the world renowned “Contemporary Master of Architecture” and traditional Elder Douglas J. Cardinal, UNCEDED showcases the works and worldview of 18 prominent Indigenous architects and designers from across Turtle Island who share an Indigenous vision for the future of our human family.
Why does your support matter so profoundly?
🌍 Step Into a Living Story - Immerse yourself in a one-of-a-kind multimedia journey through the voices, visions, and lived experiences of Indigenous Peoples from across Turtle Island.
🧠 Learn With Your Heart and Mind - This is more than an exhibition—it’s an emotional and intellectual journey that deepens your understanding of reconciliation, resilience, and Indigenous worldviews.
🧭 An Invitation to Listen and Learn - UNCEDED offers a unique opportunity to walk alongside Indigenous voices—seeing the world through their eyes, stories, and teachings. It’s a chance to engage with histories and perspectives that are often underrepresented.
💬 A Space for Reflection and Dialogue - Whether you’re new to learning about Indigenous history or already on a path of allyship, this exhibition offers a safe and powerful space to reflect, ask questions, and grow in understanding.
📘 Supports Truth and Reconciliation - Visiting UNCEDED is a meaningful step toward the Calls to Action from the Truth and Reconciliation Commission. It supports learning about Canada’s true history and how we can move forward together.
🌟 A Transformative Cultural Experience - This is not just a museum visit—it’s an emotional and educational journey that leaves a lasting impact. Many visitors describe it as eye-opening, heart-wrenching, and unforgettable.
