Red Deer Presbytery Camps Society (incorporated in 1957) operates Kasota East Camp (KEC) which is located on the shores of Sylvan Lake about 9 km northwest of the town of Sylvan Lake. It is affiliated with the Chinook Winds Region of the United Church of Canada and is accredited through both the Alberta Camping Association and United Church Camps.

Our rural, lakeside property offers summer camp programs that emphasize self-esteem, team building, leadership and communication skills, environmental stewardship, and spiritual exploration. Examples of our programming include canoeing, archery, swimming, crafts, field activities, daily reflections, and performing arts. We provide a range of opportunities that inspire and support mind, body and spirit to explore, balance and grow.

Kasota East Camp hosts around 600 campers and families from all over Alberta each summer. We also hire and provide enriching employment to 20 - 25 young people. Offering excellent employment opportunities that grow young leaders is an important part of our Mission.

Our camp typically hosts around 40 different user groups per year in the off season. Having excellent overnight facilities and programming space, campers and users can count on KEC to meet or exceed all industry standards for camper safety, quality programming, and facility management. Proceeds from rental by user groups helps to subsidize the costs for operating our summer camp programs.

Founded in 1925, Kasota East Camp is a nonprofit residential summer camp and community rental facility serving youth and families of all backgrounds regardless of religious affiliation. KEC is overseen by a volunteer Board of Directors. Our Mission is to model a Christian lifestyle in an outdoor setting within a community that promotes outreach, spiritual awareness, personal growth, and harmonious living.

Campership Fund 2023

KEC's Campership Fund helps reduce financial barriers for youth and families that would not otherwise be able to attend camp. Summer camp is a priceless experience, but it does cost money. Can you help us make camp possible for all kids?
