Hope in Strathcona began it's work in Strathcona County in 2014. An office was opened and a community outreach program was started offering peer support for residents struggling with addiction. In 2019 we opened our current sober living residence housing 5 men in recovery. Each resident receives daily check ins with a peer support worker as well as two evening group meetings with a trained addiction worker. Each resident can remain with us for 12 months. When a client leaves us we quickly fill the empty room as we have a waiting list. We also offer the community outreach program with 25-30 community residents receiving support on their recovery journey.
We have an affordable housing crisis in our communities so we provide supportive, safe and affordable housing. Without this portion of our program many would have little chose but to end up on the street.
With 3-4 deaths from overdose per day in Alberta we invite you to join us with this life saving program.
