Welcome to Heartland Training & Support Hub
Formerly known as the Farm Safety Centre, we've evolved into the Heartland Training & Support Hub, expanding our mission to foster safer, healthier, and more inclusive rural communities across Canada. Our rebranding reflects a broader commitment to not only continue our legacy of farm safety education but also to address the comprehensive needs of rural health, well-being, and the successful integration of newcomers into these vibrant communities.
Our Vision
We envision a future where every individual in rural Canada has the knowledge, resources, and support to live safely, healthily, and with a sense of belonging. Through our innovative programs - the New Roots Initiative, Rural Health Initiative, Safety Smarts, and Sustainable Farm Families - we aim to turn this vision into reality.
New Roots Initiative
Our ambitious New Roots Initiative is designed to welcome and integrate newcomers into Canada's rural heartlands. By offering educational programs, community engagement activities, health and well-being support, employment and entrepreneurship guidance, and legal/administrative assistance, we're building bridges between cultures and fostering vibrant, diverse communities.
Rural Health Initiative
The Rural Health Initiative is a proactive approach to enhancing the health and quality of life for rural residents. Through comprehensive health assessments and personalized action plans, we empower individuals to take control of their health, emphasizing prevention, education, and long-term well-being.
Safety Smarts Program
A cornerstone of our organization, the Safety Smarts program has educated over 850,000 rural children on farm safety since its inception. Facing funding challenges, we seek your support to continue this vital mission, ensuring our rural youth grow up with the knowledge to safely navigate their environments.
Sustainable Farm Families
The Sustainable Farm Families program addresses the holistic well-being of Alberta's farming community. With over 150 workshops conducted, we've made significant strides in improving the physical and mental health of farmers and ranchers, promoting sustainable living and working practices.
