Established in 2012, the Arts Council Wood Buffalo (ACWB) is a Canadian charity dedicated to fostering a vibrant and inclusive creative community, strengthening social cohesion and showcasing the unique cultural heritage of the Wood Buffalo region. As a leading advocate for the arts in Fort McMurray and surrounding rural communities, we strive to create meaningful programs that inspire, enrich and connect us all.

 

Despite facing challenges such as economic downturns, the aftermath of the 2016 Horse River Wildfire, the flooding in 2020 and the Covid-19 pandemic, ACWB has continued to deliver high-quality programs and services. With the contribution of our partners and supporters, we are contributing to the professionalization of the arts community in the region, providing resources and support for artists to develop their practice and sustain their livelihoods.
