Give the Gift of Home this Holiday Season!
*Donate before December 23 to have your donation matched!
At Habitat for Humanity Red Deer, we're on a mission to build better futures, and together, we can give more local families in Central Alberta the gift of home! We need your help to continue building homes in Red Deer, providing safe and affordable homeownership to local low-income, working families. By joining us in this campaign, you'll be part of something bigger than yourself—a movement for stronger families and stronger communities.
Your donation will make a real difference, as we have the opportunity to receive matching funds through this campaign, meaning your donation of any amount will have double the impact! These much-needed funds will help cover costs to build our next homes in Red Deer, starting in 2025 – our biggest project yet of 11 homes, to be completed in 3 phases. Once complete, this will provide safe and affordable homeownership for 11 local families, like Christina's, who became homeowners with Habitat Red Deer this past spring:
"The ability to provide a safe, permanent, comfortable home for our families creates a strong foundation for stability and growth, financially and personally. This experience created a sense of community and demonstrated the importance of what hard work and commitment can accomplish. It empowers our children to see that, although it can be humbling, asking for a hand-up can set you on a path one would never anticipate, open doors, and lead to monumental changes. My daughter and I will never forget this experience, the benefits of which will be felt for a lifetime." - Christina, Habitat Red Deer homeowner.
As we all know, the affordable housing crisis is a top-of-mind concern for Canadians, ranked as the third most important issue behind inflation and access to healthcare in an Affordable Housing Survey in 2023. As the costs of living increase, Canadians are reaching a breaking point with the lack of affordable housing – half of Canadians spend 50% or more of their income on housing, and over half (58%) worry about sacrificing other basic needs like food, living essentials, and education to afford their current housing payments.
The impact of every Habitat home goes beyond the four walls of a house. Together, we can build a brighter future – building homes, building hope.
Thank you for your generosity and support.
