Keeping Girls in Sport

At Wood Buffalo Sport Connection, we're on a mission to increase the physical activity levels of girls in sport, who have historically dropped out of sports at twice the rate of boys by the time they are 14. With your support, we can offer programs and events that will encourage and inspire young female athletes to be active for life!

Our largest event is our Girls with Grit Sport Summit. At this summit we allow girls ages 8-13 to try new sports, make new friends and learn about living a healthy active lifestyle. The event is a catalyst to increase their competence and confidence to be more likely to participate in further sport opportunities. 

In it's second year, the event has been making a huge impact.
