Our Story – Connections Early Learning & Childcare Centre

My name is Suman, and I am the founder of Connections Early Learning & Childcare Centre, a not-for-profit created from love, courage, and a vision to change the way we nurture and educate children in our society.

I was born and raised in Ontario, and when I moved to Alberta five years ago, I saw a system that was struggling. Incredible educators were working with heart and exhaustion, and families were searching for something more than care. They wanted a place that felt genuine, peaceful, and full of love, a place where their children were known, not just watched.

That realization sparked something in me.
We all have a purpose on this earth, and mine is to give all the love I have, to educate, and to give others a chance, especially the little ones who cannot yet speak for themselves. Every child deserves a safe place to grow, to be seen for who they are, and to know they matter.

That dream became Connections Early Learning & Childcare Centre.

Connections isn’t just a childcare centre. It’s a community built on love, belonging, and purpose.
We believe that early learning is the foundation for everything that follows, not only academically, but emotionally and socially. When children are nurtured with empathy, respect, and understanding, they grow into confident, compassionate human beings who strengthen our communities.

We focus on connection over compliance, on love over pressure, and on growth over perfection.
Every day, our classrooms are filled with laughter, mindfulness, and meaningful exploration. Our program blends Reggio Emilia and Montessori philosophies, where children learn through curiosity, nature, and relationships, discovering not only the world around them, but who they are within it.

At Connections, we welcome every child, no matter their age, race, or family’s financial situation.
We believe that high-quality early education should never be a privilege, it should be a right. Every child deserves to express themselves, share their ideas, explore their beliefs, and grow in an environment that sees them as capable, creative, and strong.

At the heart of it all are our educators, the heartbeat of our centre.
They are passionate, educated professionals who understand brain development and emotional intelligence. They come to work each day not just to teach, but to love. They are the hands that hold, the hearts that guide, and the voices that remind children they are safe, valued, and capable of anything.

But building something so intentional, so full of heart, isn’t easy.
As a new not-for-profit, we have poured every ounce of time, energy, and savings into bringing this vision to life. We have created something beautiful and needed, but to keep it alive, we need our community’s help.

Your donation will go directly toward educator wages, nutritious chef-prepared meals, classroom materials, and programming that supports children’s emotional and social well-being. Every contribution, no matter how small, helps us continue offering Calgary families a space filled with connection, calm, and love.
