Shepherd’s Care Foundation is a not-for-profit organization providing quality care and accommodations to more than 1400 seniors throughout Edmonton, Barrhead and Rocky View County. It all started in 1970 when a group of individuals noticed that Edmonton had very few seniors’ homes and there was an obvious gap in services for the older population. 

Shepherd’s Care Millwoods Care Centre opened on June 24, 1984. Today it accommodates 147 Continuing Care Home Type A residents (formerly long-term care), a multi-use auditorium, and a small chapel. Millwoods Manor, the Gardens Continuing Care Type B spaces (formerly Designated Supportive Living), and the 15-storey Condo are attached to the Shepherd’s Care Millwoods.

The original chapel and multi-use auditorium have proven to be inadequate and not very functional. There have been days we have exceeded capacity, especially when accommodating residents with wheelchairs, geriatric chairs, and walkers. If an event takes place in the auditorium, it is very difficult to serve all our residents and families.

By renovating, we will achieve improvement of our
present space for the comfort of our residents!

We are in great need of a redesigned Auditorium space and renewal as our facility has aged. One that can be used for our Millwoods Christian Church, for Recreation Therapy programs, multi-use programs and activities. We need your help to make it happen. Donations are the only way we can strengthen our roots to take better care of our current residents at our original site.
