Bringing students together with Career Mentors is what World of Choices is all about.
These days, young people have no shortage of access to information. They are also inundated with fabricated representations of "success" through social media. As our student says so honestly above, young people are in need of real mentorship, guidance and advice from real people.
World of Choices is an opportunity for students to learn about a variety of different career paths from the professionals themselves.
During a World of Choices event, Career Mentors across southern Alberta are streamed into classrooms and virtually connect with inquisitive students. In this interactive format, students learn about of a variety of career possibilities, receive a general overview of different industries, and are invited to ask additional questions. Students leave feeling proactive about their futures and better equipped to capitalize on opportunities in emerging, traditional, and non-traditional fields, while Career Mentors have a renewed sense excitement after sharing their life experiences.
