Ammolite Opera (AO) is an exciting new contemporary summer opera company based in Calgary! At the core of AO's mission is the celebration of Western Canadian talent, blended with the inclusion of top-tier Canadian artists. We are thrilled to unveil our groundbreaking venture this summer, promising to redefine the operatic experience with a fresh and modern perspective. We aspire to establish ourselves as the premier summer opera company across Canada.

We are delighted to announce our inaugural season, with our main-stage opera production set to take place at the West Village Theatre in downtown Calgary from August 24th to August 30th, 2024. Our main-stage production will feature a Canadian premiere, which will be a fully designed and staged performance showcasing six world-class Canadian opera singers accompanied by an exceptional orchestra! Alongside our main production, we are excited to present a free and accessible music series dedicated to spotlighting our team of Canadian performing artists. This is our commitment to making the arts accessible to all, inviting everyone to revel in the beauty of our artists' performances this summer. Stay tuned for further details on our season, to be announced in May 2024.

2024 marks the debut season of Ammolite Opera, and we warmly invite your support in bringing our vision to life this summer! Your generous contributions will help cover essential costs such as venue rental, artist fees, performance rights, music part rentals, marketing expenses, as well as accommodation and travel fees. Your support not only fosters the growth of Canadian talent but also enriches the diversity of operatic arts in Calgary, Alberta, and the broader Canadian West. The inaugural season of Ammolite Opera in summer 2024 heralds the start of a cultural journey that we believe will resonate for years to come.

The Alberta Government Crowdfund offers a matching grant of 50% up to $5,000.00 annually. If we successfully raise $10,000.00, the platform will boost our efforts to $15,000.00!

 

Ammolite Opera operates under the auspices of the charitable organization Rosebud Fellowship.

Donations of $20.00 or more will receive a charitable donation receipt. Please ensure to provide your mailing address and email in the notes.
