The St. Albert Men's Slowpitch Association (SAMSPA) is a volunteer-driven organization that has operated and maintained the Meadowview Softball Facility in the heart of St. Albert, Alberta, since 1980. SAMSPA was incorporated in 1992 through the Societies Act of Alberta.
The Meadowview Facility is a place that ensures the community is brought together through the love of sport, friendships and fellowship!! It is a jewel in St. Albert, built from the grassroots up by the volunteer members of the community for the community. The facility serves a broad community of athletes, including seniors' softball, high school softball, girls' minor fastball, coed softball, and a wide range of provincial and national tournaments. Our patrons range from pre-teens to 90 years of age. We proudly host men's softball divisions for plus 60 and 70 age groups. Meadowview is a preeminent facility in Alberta that has been generously built and maintained through enormous volunteer efforts spanning many decades.
As the facility ages, there is a growing need for improvements and modernization that exceeds our volunteer capacity and operational revenue streams. Furthermore, the competition for provincial grant funding has increased substantively, reducing our ability to leverage that funding source for facility maintenance and improvements.
We need help from the public to sustain this wonderful facility!
The challenge is that SAMSPA is a self-funded Non-Profit and has had lots of unexpected needs and costs arise. These are above-normal budget items. Examples of where your support dollars will go are website rebuild, modernization of facility, electrical upgrades, plumbing upgrades, concession equipment, fencing, batting cage, landscaping, maintenance equipment, etc. Our facility has aged, yet it is a gem in the community. Please help us keep it vibrant and accessible to all.
We have amazing volunteers putting in countless hours of their time, finances and energy. However, it is not enough. We need an influx of donations to provide the ongoing programs and services that we offer to the community and surrounding areas.
We do not have the means to sustain these rising costs on our own without the support from donors like you. Your support can make all the difference!!

Needing new bases on all 4 diamonds!! Buy the 2nd and 3rd bases on D#1. Bases are Hollywood Kwik release bags to prevent injury to players!! Buy 1 bag or 2 bags or buy all 8 bags needed for all 4 diamonds. Each diamond will cost us $700.00 plus gst to replace.
