And while climate denialism and inaction might seem like it is growing across the world, here in Calgary our climate community gets stronger every day! The evidence is clear - the climate crisis is here. The solution? Community action!

The Calgary Climate Hub is a registered charity taking decisive action on the climate crisis. We are an organized movement made up of a diverse group of citizens who are united in our conviction that we can build a better world for all.
Since our formation in 2017, we have empowered, educated, and mobilized Calgarians to take local action, push for climate-focused municipal policies, and create notable impacts.
In 2025 we were able to:
- Advance Tree Equity, establishing Calgary's first Tree Equity Ambassador program
- Plant trees and Tiny Forests across Calgary's communities - planting over 1200 trees and shrubs in 2025!
- Help direct council to begin building out the 5A Cycling Network
- Continue working on a maximum temperature bylaw for rentals, while helping address urban sprawl and housing affordability issues
- Work towards legislating stronger watershed protections and regulations in Southern Alberta
- Triple our annual Youth Climate Bursaries, to better support student climate action
- Begin a Climate Justice program in partnership with Mount Royal University and University of Calgary
- Begin a Nature Based Solutions Program, helping communities enhance their climate resilience through proven adaptation and mitigation projects
- Begin an arts based climate action program, helping build community connection and power
- Produce our monthly Climate Lens Podcast, to advance climate literacy and perspectives
- Support EcoElder Actions - Senior climate rallies, education and awareness campaigns
- Host 3 large community rallies, in addition to over 30 climate events across our city!

- New Advocacy Campaigns, working on issues such as: Housing Access and Sustainability, Active Transportation, Watershed and Logging Conservation, Public Transportation, Energy Efficiency/Renewable Energy, etc.
- Continue developing our Climate Justice Program in partnership with MRU and UofC, supporting community mutual aid projects and municipal policy engagements for climate justice outcomes
- More Tiny Forest/tree plantings, and maintenance of our Tree Equity Ambassador program
- Our Nature Based Solutions (NbS) Program, supporting communities across Calgary to implement their own NbS projects based on their existing assets and concerns
- Coalition work aimed at reforming the Alberta Energy Regulator

- A potential solar project with a local affordable housing agency, helping renters access the benefits of the energy transition
- Maintenance of our Student Climate Action Bursaries - supporting youth climate action
