Alberta has a history with successful gay rodeo. It is an event which helps bring the LGBTQ2S+ community together.  Current social stereotypes makes it difficult for a member of the community to participate in a safe way in community rodeos.   CRGRA provides an opportunity for people who enjoy the western life style to get together and to compete in a safe and accepted environment.   Gay rodeo provides an opportunity for individuals within the community to connect with like minded people and reduce the isolation they may otherwise feel. 

Our mandate is: 

To produce a group of well-rounded individuals by enabling them to be properly educated about the various aspects of western events  (horsemanship, roping, etc.).
To provide the opportunity to organize and participate in a gay rodeo.
To provide recreation for the members and the gay community to promote an opportunity for friendly and social activity.
To establish a group of people, who are both proficient and professional, to collectively work on fund-raising events, organizational activities and to perform charitable duties for the surrounding area by aiding any particular charitable organization the membership shall choose at any given
time.
To be an organization for the entire community, barring all prejudices related to sex, national origin, sexual orientation, religion, race, age, disability or any other prejudice the organization might encounter.
To foster a sense of tolerance and togetherness within the community at large.

Our board of directors and supporters have many years of experience with gay rodeo. Our event will is a sanctioned event and follows the rodeo format of the international organization we are part of - the International Gay Rodeo Association www.igra.com.
