Sparta House is a drop in service for adults dealing with mental health, we offer a variety of on and off site programs for our members including a meal program to provide healthy hot meals. We currently serve over 90 adults in the town of Claresholm. We have been told our building is over 100 years old and lucky for us has been well maintained and sturdy for us. Every other year we are eligible for a grant to do some work however the grant only covers half of each project. The cold temperatures of Southern Alberta Winters takes its toll on our insufficient heating system. Our kitchen pipes freeze up which immediately stop us from running meal service. This year we lost almost all of our pet fish due to the temperature and we had to say g goodbye to our pet turtle as she had to go elsewhere where her pump would not freeze up. With the current heat system running non stop we were only reaching temperatures of 15! We need your help warming the building up. We have identified areas of the building that need insulation improvements and we need a larger more efficient furnace to keep us going.
