Creating New Hope for Youth & AdultsThe growing waitlist at the Be Brave Ranch highlights the immediate requirement for expansion. By doing so, we can ensure that a greater number of children, youth and families gain entry to the specialized, therapeutic interventions to help heal child sexual abuse trauma. Our mission is clear – we must expand, doubling our capacity, so that more hearts can find their way to healing. Imagine a world where laughter replaces tears, where scars of the soul fade into stories of triumph.
Simultaneously, the endeavors of Little Warriors extend a vision of fortitude - Our Lighthouse. This world-class treatment center, a beacon of hope, is dedicated to adult survivors of child sexual abuse trauma. Rising against the tides of pain, it's destined to stand as a sanctuary for those whose childhood innocence was stolen.
These twin endeavors encapsulate our commitment to combating the impacts of childhood trauma and illuminating a way forward for those who seek healing and transformation. This is where happiness and health intertwine.
The Be Brave Ranch Expansion Plan
TO BUILD OUR EXPANSION, THE FUNDRAISING GOAL IS CURRENTLY $5M.
In response to the growing waiting list, we are aiming to construct a new housing unit on the expansive 120-acre grounds of the Be Brave Ranch. This expansion will facilitate the provision of specialized, intensive trauma treatment to an extra 40 children every month. By nurturing strong mental health, we cultivate a positive perspective that empowers us to engage fully in life and achieve our aspirations. Every child deserves the opportunity for a promising and healthy life journey!
In Canada, the statistics relating to child sexual abuse are truly overwhelming. A staggering one in three girls and one in six boys will experience an unwanted sexual act before their 18th birthday. Even more disturbing is that a recent study shows that 95% of child sexual abuse cases go unreported. Even if you haven’t been personally affected by child sexual abuse, it’s clear that too many children have been. The negative social implications of child sexual abuse are profound. Some of the devastating outcomes for children and teen survivors include symptoms of PTSD, anxiety/depression, increased suicide rates, addiction/substance abuse, poverty, crime, homelessness, prostitution and more. Specialized, early interventions, as delivered at the Be Brave Ranch, reduce mental health related issues, including reductions in post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, anxiety, suicide, interactions with the justice system and school dropout rates. Additionally, the intensive and comprehensive treatment program significantly improves self-esteem, cognitive abilities, resiliency and increased performance in school.

The Story of Our Lighthouse: Helping Adults Heal
At Little Warriors, we witness the devastating, complex impacts of child sexual abuse every single day—heartbreaking outcomes that don’t simply end when adulthood begins. We see the debilitating emotional, physical and mental toll it takes on individuals for their entire lives. What’s more, we observe the effects on families, neighborhoods and entire communities for generations.

Motivated to inspire widespread recovery and change, Little Warriors is expanding our continuum of care to build Our Lighthouse: a new world-class program that will provide adult survivors of child sexual abuse with intensive, trauma and evidence-informed treatment to help them overcome the pain of the past and embrace brighter futures. Our Lighthouse will be the world’s first adult treatment facility of its kind. Backed by the shared research, expertise and success of the Little Warriors Be Brave Ranch (Be Brave Ranch), it’s poised to become a centre of excellence. Using specialized, multimodal treatment, it will help guide adults to discover new skills, hope, self-confidence and resiliency. It will help advance practice-changing research in the area of effective child sexual abuse treatment and recovery in adults, and it will work to inspire new generations of leading specialists and experts. Our Lighthouse will provide long-awaited hope and support for adult survivors of child sexual abuse, working to address the deep-rooted and far-reaching impacts of their trauma. In turn, it will also help to inspire happier, healthier communities for all of us. Together, we can light the way. |  |
A Beacon of Hope
Strong mental health empowers individuals with the positive outlook they need to realize their potential, cope with stress, work productively, enjoy strong relationships and make positive societal contributions. The future prosperity of our communities depends on our ability to foster the health and well-being of individuals who need help.
Our Lighthouse
Our Lighthouse will provide specialized support and trauma
treatment for adults 18+ who have a history of child sexual abuse and
would benefit from an intensive individualized care plan to strengthen
their existing abilities and develop new strategies that support their
ongoing healing process.
The Program
Adult child sexual abuse survivors will work with our dedicated
and highly trained Little Warriors Multi-Disciplinary Team to
co-create an individualized treatment or care plan, which includes:
- Trauma-informed individual, group, and family therapy and supports
- Trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT) and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT)
- Somatic Therapeutic Interventions
- Expressive therapies (art, psychodrama, music)
- Animal-assisted therapy (AAT) and animal-assisted activities (AAA)
- Indigenous Elder teachings and community cultural liaison
- Therapeutic milieu and peer (cohort) support, including recreation
- Neuro-feedback (brain-training neuroscience technology)
- EMDR
- Yoga and mindfulness practices
Treatment
This intensive evidence-based and trauma-informed treatment
model will work with clients (at their own pace) to help overcome the
lingering bio-psycho-social-spiritual symptoms related to their
previous sexual abuse trauma(s). The main treatment focus will help to
