The
Government of Alberta will match 50% of funds raised, up to $5,000
annually, to eligible non-profit organizations. Match funding
eligibility is assessed automatically and transferred through
electronic funds (EFT). Campaigns that raise $10,000 within eight

Sarah is a resident of a small Alberta town who relies on a wheelchair for mobility. With no accessible public transportation available, she depends on a volunteer-based service that operates only twice a week. This limitation restricts her ability to attend medical appointments, participate in community events, or pursue employment opportunities, leading to feelings of isolation and frustration.
Sarah’s story is just 1 of a million similar stories in Alberta. 1 million: That is how many Albertans with disabilities are asked to negotiate public transit systems that often lack the necessary infrastructure to accommodate. These challenges are usually worse still in rural areas exacerbating feelings of isolation for individuals with disabilities. The Wetaskiwin Community Transportation Society (WCTS) is charity-status non-profit with a simple and direct mission: To relieve conditions associated with aging and/or disabilities by providing transportation services for aged individuals with limited mobility and, individuals with physical or developmental disabilities, in Wetaskiwin, Alberta and the surrounding area.
This campaign will help raise awareness of our mission through the development of an integrated awareness campaign and enhanced social media presence.
