In 2023, the Sherwood Park Curling Club celebrated 20 years as an official club and acknowledge 60 years of curling in Sherwood Park and Strathcona County. Think about that, 60 years of one of Canada’s most enduring winter sports that have given us many wonderful memories, produced countless renowned curlers, and brought home some amazing championships and champions.

Now you too can have a part to play in recognizing these accomplishments with the installation of a creative, enormous, and vibrant piece of public art. The Sherwood Park Curling Club has approved this unique project of creating an indoor mural that will commemorate these milestones and bring colour and character to our curing rink.

We need your help to complete the project through your donation or sponsorship. We have been successful in securing a number of grants and contributions to initiate the project, but what we need now is your assistance in getting the project across the hog line.

The details of the mural are being kept under wraps so that we can start our 2024/2025 curling season off with a celebration of the arts and sport. A mural project committee that has representation from a cross section of our leagues, executive, and operations have been working with a renowned local artist to develop and create the vision for the mural. They are excited for everyone to see this amazing collection of curling themes, language, elements of the sport, and connection to the community.

Your contribution will be matched by the Government of Alberta and will bring the project from concept to reality.
