What We Do
We welcome students of every race, culture, and socioeconomic background, affirm people of all abilities, sexual orientations, gender identities, and gender expressions, and embrace those who are religious, spiritual, or non-religious. In all we do, we seek to create spaces where every student feels valued, supported, and affirmed.
Our programming includes:
- Simple Suppers
- Women's Circle
- Holy Bakery
- Drum, Dine, and Discuss
- BBQs
- Farming, Food, and Faith (including excursion to Wray Farms)
- Synod-wide Winter Retreat at Kuriakos
What Your Gift Will Provide
We gratefully receive some support from the ABT Synod and from some congregations (especially Hope Lutheran Church in Calgary), but this funding does not begin to meet our operating expenses.
Our biggest expense is the salary and benefits of our talented and hardworking Chaplain, Rev. Margaret Koizumi. We also hire students throughout the year to assist with our programming. Another key expense is the cost of food for our Simple Suppers; Drum, Dine, & Discuss; Holy Bakery; and BBQs. Travel expenses take our team to congregations on Sunday mornings, to Wray Farms, and on other excursions. We also subsidize the cost of having our students attend the annual Winter Retreat at Kuriakos.
