Every day at CCASA, people impacted by sexual violence reach out during some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives. Your support ensures our programs remain accessible, so no one has to navigate trauma alone.
Integrated Case Management (ICM), launched last year, offers trauma-informed stabilization, advocacy, and emotional support. Clients can meet with case managers virtually, at the CCASA office, or in the community. Within five days of referral, survivors receive a needs assessment and begin building personalized goals. In its first year, ICM supported 69 clients, delivered 439 sessions, and coordinated referrals, most related to food insecurity, unemployment, and mental health. One hundred percent of clients reported a better understanding of how trauma affects them.
The Calgary Sexual Assault Response Team (CSART) provides 24/7 immediate care within 168 hours of an assault. Anyone who accesses this service receives medical support, forensic options, safety planning, and crisis intervention. Last year, CSART supported 540 individuals, completed 339 hospital accompaniments, and provided 425 referrals, ensuring no one was ever alone in crisis.
The Police and Court Support Team (PACES) guides people through the legal system, offering specialized education, advocacy, and accompaniment. Last year, PACES supported 124 new clients, completed 148 accompaniments, and launched new reporting-information sessions attended by 34 participants.
Our Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) had a record number of members this year. Through this initiative, youth deepen their understanding of sexual violence, strengthen communication and leadership skills, and contribute meaningful feedback that shapes our advocacy efforts. They learn about the impacts of sexual violence, the importance of consent education, and the power of believing in people who have experienced sexual violence.
