While funds last, the Government of Alberta will match 50 per cent of funds raised by eligible organizations, up to $5,000, annually.

The Lutheran Church at Markervillle has been part of the community since 1907. The Church is presently owned and operated by the Stephan G Stephansson Icelandic Society and is part of Historic Markerville, an Alberta Heritage Site.

The Church from time to time needs maintenance. At the present moment, the Church Steeple is infested with carpenter ants as well as being attacked by wood peckers. So it needs to be repaired. 

Although we receive monies from time to time from Alberta Heritage and Red Deer County. We need to do a fund raiser to offset additional costs.
