What we do.

KidSport Wood Buffalo is dedicated to giving children in our community the chance to experience the life-changing benefits of sport, regardless of their financial situation. Our mission is to remove the financial barriers that prevent kids from participating in organized sports by providing grants to cover registration fees, equipment costs, and other expenses. We believe that sport has the power to build confidence, teach teamwork, and promote overall health and well-being. By supporting local families, we ensure that every child, no matter their background, has the opportunity to grow, thrive, and develop life skills through sport.

What we've done.

• Grant Funding: We provide grants of up to $600 per child per year to cover sport registration fees for eligible youth in the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo. KidSport Canada​

• Oil Country Hockey Assist Program: In two seasons, we've funded over 3,000 kids into hockey through this program, covering up to $750 per player for registration fees and providing access to no-cost equipment. ​ KidSport Canada

• Community Reach: We proudly serve all communities within the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo, including Fort McMurray, Anzac, Conklin, Draper, Fort Chipewyan, Fort Fitzgerald, Fort McKay, Fort McMurray, Gregoire Lake Estates, Janvier, and Saprae Creek Estates.

KidSport Wood Buffalo is now accepting sponsors for the upcoming Pizza Pigout!   All funds collected will help get more kids into sports! At  KidSport Wood Buffalo we provide financial assistance for children residing in the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo so they can experience the physical, mental, and social benefits of sport regardless of their financial situation.   Funds collected are eligible for fund matching by the Government of Alberta.    Become a sponsor today, contact Sandi at wbmanager@kidsport.ab.ca

How funds will be used.

 $20,000 - Funding Full Seasons for 80 Kids

• Goal: Reaching this milestone will allow 80 kids to participate in a full season of sport, from registration to game day, including team fees and associated costs.
