Alberta Ecotrust Foundation is a charity that leads and catalyzes environmental and climate action projects that enhance the well-being of Alberta’s communities. It collaborates with diverse partners to deliver, fund, and enable innovative solutions that address pressing environmental challenges in the province.

One in five households in Calgary struggles to heat their homes and pay their energy bills. To help these families improve their comfort and reduce their energy costs, Alberta Ecotrust Foundation has partnered with Kambo Energy Group to deliver the Home Upgrades Program . The program provides free energy efficiency upgrades and education to eligible lower-income families. So far, 105 Calgary households have benefited from the program, but the demand for support far exceeds our current capacity.

With your support, we could help at least 100 additional families with customized upgrades such as new high-efficiency furnaces, insulation, and air-sealing to improve energy efficiency and lower emissions.

The Home Upgrade Program focuses on households that need the most support. Many applicants self-identify as coming from a marginalized community, including immigrants, people of colour, those with disabilities, Indigenous peoples, and those from the  LGBTQIA2S+ communities. The program also features a multilingual application and offers translation support for newcomers and immigrants, making it more accessible.
