Solid Footing

The Stony Creek Men's Shed (North of Cochrane, Alberta) is a non-profit society with space and environment for men to gather, build. blend, and banter. While we do not emphasize men's health issues, we recognize our approach usually helps men transition with a range of activities to help them adapt and grow. Women and men differ in their social interactions. We see Men's Sheds as healthy avenues for male interaction. Anecdotal evidence supports Men's Sheds ability to cope with isolation and depression that often comes with retirement, unemployment, or loss of a life partner and friends.

The Stony Creek Men's Shed has arranged a fifteen-year lease at $1.00 per year with the understanding the Shed Members will cover the ongoing utilities and insurance expenses.

However, half the space does not have insulation and heated floors. Crowd funding of $12,900 will cover the cost of 850 square feet of concrete floor with under floor insulation, heating pipe, rebar and and the placement and finishing of the concrete.
