Sweetgrass Youth Alliance hasn't added a story.

Oki! We are Sweetgrass Youth Alliance and we exist to support youth through their transition to adulthood. Part of this sometimes means involvement in systems that can be difficult to navigate.

Restorative Justice is an approach to the criminal justice system that involves the person who was harmed, the person who caused the harm, and the community to come together to resolve the issue peacefully and without criminal justice system involvement.

We are raising money for this pilot project in Lethbridge Alberta. We have consulted with Blackfoot Elders and been given their blessing to go ahead. Traditionally, Indigenous people resolved conflict within the community and this is what we want to return to.

A Peacekeeping Circle is a way to ensure that all people involved are treated fairly. Elders will be in the circle to provide wisdom.
